Organisation

In compliance with the european university system, (Bologna or BMD process), the courses are organised in semesters. The course is coordinated by Université Grenoble-Alpes and adresses the following principles:

  • The course is divided into two semesters, the first comprises classes on theory and the second is dedicated to a research project (practical course in a research laboratory)
  • All students spend the first semester in Grenoble
  • Students must undertake their second semester research intership in an institution different from their home university

The first semester, from September until the end of January, is principally devoted to broadening knowledge. The programme is the following:

  • A common-core syllabus : 2 courses of 6 ECTS credits each
  • 5 option courses to be chosen from 11. Each course delivers 3 ECTS credits.
  • 1 language course of 3 ECTS credits (French for foreign students, English or another foreign language for French students).

The second semester is devoted to the research internship in a university or industry research laboratory (30 ECTS credits).
